Hello! I am so excited you found us. Our names are Greg, Annie, and Sophie.  Greg works for an insurance company. Annie is a full time student, works as an Order Logistics Specialist, and Sapphira who prefers to be called Sophie is a full time middle school student, a cheerleader, and Wisconsin Miss Amazing Junior Teen Queen for 2020.

Oh yeah! We also have Cheerio. We can't forget abut our loveable Newfy-Poo Cheerio. She is Sophie's emotional support dog/ service dog in training. But that's a whole other story!

What are doing here?

Well that is an interesting story. Sophie was diagnosed with Autism at 3 years old. She was completely non-verbal at the time, was not potty-trained, could barely walk on two legs, but could run on two legs and two hands, and struggled daily.

Sophie has worked incredibly hard! She is now completely verbal, competes in track and cross country, and loves to dance. Sophie continues to work hard on a daily basis on her academics, her cheerleading, and her social skills.

When she was 9, she saw a flyer for Miss Amazing Pageant hanging in her gym. Sophie has always been our little princess, and loves to dress up in fancy dresses. At seven she convinced my parents to hold a prom for her, where every one dressed in formal wear, and danced the night away.  This was right up her alley. So we signed her up, and she got on that stage on Friday night and sang her little heart out to "A Bird Without Wings", Saturday she competed in the Rising Star division in her favorite pink dress. Getting that crown and trophy, she was so proud of herself!

In 2017, she moved up to the Preteen division, and this time her two best friends Zoe and Tori joined her on stage. Their talent was a 2 minute cheer routine.  The next night she put on a gorgeous purple ball gown and beat up brown cowboy boots. Her smile lit up the auditorium. Standing back waiting patiently for her name to be called, she did not figure out she won until they pinned her sash on her. Instant tears and a huge smile.

We traveled to Chicago that year to Nationals, just Annie and Sophie. A great mom and daughter bonding experience. Sophie was full of a nervous excitement. She was singing for talent at nationals. The group of Pampered Chef Consultants across from us, saw her in her dress and asked her about what she was doing. She smiled and told them all about how Miss Amazing gives girls like her with disabilities the chance to be on stage, show their talents, and make new friends. She even sang to them. They wished her luck and one of the ladies ran and got her socks she had that on the bottom said "You're Amazing."

Sophie did not win a National title that year, but she has had the goal for a national title since. While Sophie was a little disappointed she didn't get the national title, Sophie loved meeting new friends from different states, the parades she was in, and appearances she made at local events.

Last year she competed in the Wisconsin Miss Amazing Junior Teen division, and won the Wisconsin Title. Due to Covid 19, Nationals was canceled, however this year, we are heading to Nashville for Sapphira to represent Wisconsin.

This blog will follow her journey to Nashville and Nationals.
